Sanctum 3D 2011

Sanctum 3D 2011 A group of deep sea divers led by explorer Frank McGuire embarks on an expedition into the unexplored Esaala Caves system in Papua New Guinea. When a tropical storm collapses the entrance to the caves the team becomes trapped miles beneath the surface with limited oxygen and supplies. As they struggle to find an alternate route to the ocean the divers face underwater avalanches treacherous tunnels and decompression sickness. Tensions rise between team members as survival instincts override professional discipline. The film follows their desperate attempt to navigate through the deadly labyrinth while confronting their own fears and mortality. The cave system itself becomes an antagonist with its narrow passages sudden drops and rising water levels. The divers must push beyond human limits to reach the surface before their air runs out.
