Banshee Chapter 3D 2013 follows journalist Anna Roland who investigates the mysterious disappearance of her friend. The disappearance is linked to secret government experiments from the 1960s using the psychoactive substance DMT. Anna tracks down former beatnik writer Thomas Blackburn based on real life counterculture figure Ken Kesey. Together they face invisible entities that become visible under the influence of drugs. The film combines horror and science fiction inspired by Howard Lovecraft and the real life CIA Project MK Ultra. The plot develops through found videos and audio materials creating an atmosphere of paranoia and supernatural horror. Anna must uncover the truth before she becomes the next victim.
