Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3D 2016. The film takes place in the Harry Potter universe, roughly seventy years before the events of the main book series. In New York City in 1926, new dangers emerge for the wizarding community. The dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald has escaped justice once again, while a radical group called the New Salem Society seeks to destroy all witches and wizards. Into this tense atmosphere arrives writer and naturalist Newt Scamander, carrying a magical suitcase filled with dangerous creatures and their habitats. When the creatures escape, the American magical authorities pursue Newt, setting off a series of events that could push the worlds of wizards and non-magical people toward open conflict.
