Consecrated from a former house of Confucius into a temple in 478 BC by the Duke of Lu, the Confucius Temple in Qufu is the first, largest, and oldest temple dedicated to the great thinker, educator, and philosopher Confucius. It is an ancient architectural complex in China, second only to the Forbidden City, and was visited by twelve different emperors. In 1994, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Confucius Cemetery and the Kong Family Mansion. The documentary explores these historic locations.
